Innertubes

Innertubes can be made of Butyl or Latex.

Valves must be compatible with rims and pumps.

Most road bikes use Presta valves. Mountain bikes tend to use Schrader which are car valves but some do use Presta. The valve length must be matched to the rim depth. A deep rim needs a longer valve. Not a bad idea to carry a long valve spare so you can help a friend whatever his rim style.

Always carry a spare and it is good to keep several on the shelf.
